Get involved with the Community

By getting involved with the Molly Project you'll be helping to grow an open source community and improve the quality and range of features Molly provides. In an HE environment where resources are finite, it's nice to know that there are others working on the same software that you can go to for help.

Mailing Lists

Post your questions/problems/ideas to the list and get input from the rest of the community. You'll almost certainly want to join the mollyproject-devel list as a starting point. At the moment (Feb 2011) it's a fairly low volume list.

IRC

Drop in on #molly on irc.freenode.net to talk to other developers involved in Molly. You'll usually find someone who can help with installs, ideas and more!

If you haven't ever tried IRC before, this quick how to may be of use to you.

Our IRC channel is logged, and you can view our logs (sorted by day) at http://docs.mollyproject.org/irclogs/.

Github

Most of Molly's development revolves around Github. We have a public issue tracker and Wiki there as well as having the code available in tar balls and via 'Git'. We encourage others to 'Fork' our code, make their modifications and ask for it to be 'pulled' back into the main tree. Once you've made a few pull requests, the existing members will probably invite you as a member and be able to take part in future governance.
